Self Employed

People can immigrate to Canada permanently as self-employed individuals thanks to the Self-employed Persons Program.

You must: 

  • have appropriate expertise in extracurricular activities or athletics if you’re interested in this program.
  • have willingness and capacity to work for oneself in Canada, and
  • be ready and able to significantly contribute to Canada’s cultural or sports life.

 

Selection Criteria

The threshold is 35/100.

 

25 points for education, 35 points for experience, 10 points for age, 24 points for language (IELTS/TEF), and 6 points for adaptability.

 

Your educational background is crucial.

 

SELF-EMPLOYED or participation in a qualifying occupation at a world-class level for two years in the past five years, or both (1 year of each).

World-class participation in athletics or the arts aims to identify and attract PERFORMERS. People who are well-known globally are classified as World Class. It also recognizes individuals who may not be well-known on a global scale yet excel in their field.

Demonstrate Intention and Ability

Financial resources can also be used to gauge a person’s intention and capacity to establish themselves economically in Canada. For those who work for themselves, there is no set minimum investment amount. Candidates must have the resources necessary to support themselves, their families, and themselves while also finding work.

A business plan, business experience, partners, exploratory visits, and finances can all be used to demonstrate intent. Possibility of working independently in this profession in Canada.

 

 

Eligible Occupations

Filmmakers, producers, directors, actors, comedians, interpreters, journalists, musicians, singers, music teachers, illustrators, painters, sculptors, visual artists, free-lance journalists, set designers, coaches, trainers, athletes, choreographers, theatric or musical directors, and impresarios, as well as writing, translating, and related communication experts, creative and performing artists, photographers, and graphic artists are all eligible.

 

 

Eligibility

During the previous three years, one year of nonseasonal employment experience. In either English or French, CLB 4. A job offer is a must. ECA for international education requiring at least a high school certificate. proof of the settlement money.
